Windows Terminal Preview 1.11 has released

Windows Terminal Preview 1.11 has been released. It will cycle through the Windows Insider Program before continuing its journey to retail. Here’s what you can expect in the latest preview version.

  • Acrylic title bar
  • Optional feature: Minimize to system tray
  • Intense text style appearance options
  • Font features and axes
  • Drag and drop path in ‘+’ button
  • Changes to default terminal behavior
  • Pane functionality improvements

Pane improvements are numerous. You can use the command palette or “movepane” command to move panes, swap placements of two panes within tabs, and split tabs into new panes. It’s all the pane functionality action you can handle.

There is also a laundry list of bug fixes and improvements in this release, including dynamically generated profile deletion, the ability to use sc() and vk() for keybinding, and loads more. You can see the full lineup over at Microsoft’s blog post announcing the preview release.

Microsoft’s having a busy week when it comes to preview releases. Not only has it pushed out Terminal Preview 1.11, but it’s also gone ahead with releasing commercial previews for Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 21H2.

And that’s not all. Microsoft also released a new Windows 11 build in the Dev Channel recently, alongside one for the Beta Channel. It’s been a busy time for Microsoft when it comes to pumping out previews and test builds.
