Windows 11 Photos app available for Beta and Release Preview Insiders
With the release of Windows 11, Microsoft will roll out revamped versions of several applications, including Paint and the Photos app. Some Dev Channel Insiders received the new version of the Photos app earlier this month. Now, the latest version of the app is rolling out to the Beta and Release Preview channels.
Microsoft MVP Richard Hay spotted the new version of the Photos app in the Beta and Release Preview channels.
Microsoft’s Panos Panay teased the new Photos app earlier this month. We got a closer look at the app when it started shipping to Dev Channel Insiders.
The new Photos app has a refreshed look that lines up with Windows 11, including rounded corners and the Mica theme. It also has a carousel view, the option to select multiple images, and the ability to view photos side-by-side. The Photos app also mentions extensions from the Microsoft Store that will let people “edit photos like a pro.”
Don’t have TPM support? Try one of these motherboard modules.
If your PC somehow does not have trusted platform module (TPM) support through firmware and your UEFI BIOS, we’d recommend checking your motherboard manual for a TPM header. If you have one present, you can try to see if one of these will be compatible to get you ready for Windows 11.
