Will Resident Evil Village come to Xbox One and PlayStation 4?

Best answer: No. Capcom is developing Resident Evil Village as a next-generation only title, so it’s not coming to the Xbox One or PS4.

Is Resident Evil Village coming to Xbox One and PS4?

Resident Evil Village is not going to be playable on Xbox One or PS4, as it’s only being developed for next-generation platforms. Capcom has stated it’ll be available on Xbox Series X, PC and PS5.

Capcom has also explained that the village itself is meant to be a major character in the game. It’s possible that being able to freely explore the village was only possible with high-speed SSDs found in the upcoming consoles. If so, trying to port Resident Evil Village to the Xbox One or PS4 would’ve made for a very poor experience.

Resident Evil Village What other benefits are there for a next-gen only game?

Resident Evil Village runs on the RE Engine. Since Resident Evil Village isn’t coming to current-generation systems, it’ll be able to run at a smooth frame rate, with high-quality textures that don’t have to be downgraded for less-capable machines. The press release for the game explained that the developers are targeting “ultra-realistic graphics,” which wouldn’t be possible with lower amounts of processing power.

We don’t know the exact release date of Resident Evil Village yet. All we know is that it’s scheduled to release at some point in 2021. When it releases, it’ll be available on Xbox Series X, PC, and PS5.
