Where to farm the best weapons in Borderlands 3
Weapon farming is something that Borderlands players have been doing since the first game came out, as the series’ respawning enemies allow players to clear the same areas (and boss fights) over and over again to try and score a lucky high-tier loot drop, such as an epic or legendary-level item. Borderlands 3 has now arrived, and players have already begun searching for the best places to farm in the new title. There are a few strong locations in the game, but ultimately, there is one that trumps all others. Here’s our guide on where it is, as well as what you need to do and some tips on how you can farm this area in the most efficient way possible.
Welcome back
Borderlands 3
The legendary franchise returns
Borderlands 3 offers a gargantuan array of different weapons to find, tons of new enemies to battle, new Vault Hunters to control, and new worlds to explore. Are you ready for mayhem?
So, where should you go?
The purple waypoint indicates where the Loot Tink always spawns.
In order to start taking advantage of the best weapon farm in Borderlands 3, you’re going to need to head to where it is first! To do this, travel to the planet Eden-6 and enter the Jakobs Estate sector of the map. Once there, use the screenshot of the map above to navigate to where the purple waypoint is. There, you will find a Loot Tink (or Hoarder Tink, if you’re in Mayhem Mode) enemy carrying a large backpack, and he will immediately attempt to flee upon seeing you. Make sure to kill him quickly so that he doesn’t escape. Then, open his loot backpack and check everything he drops. If you see anything good, grab it; then, simply pause the game and quit and save to the main menu. To do the farm again, load back into the game and you’ll spawn back in the Jakobs Estate — and the Loot Tink will be in the exact same spot.
Loot Tinks are supposed to spawn randomly and rarely, but for whatever reason, this one consistently spawns in the same location every time the level is reloaded. The reason this works so efficiently is because Loot Tinks have some of the best drop rates for rare guns in Borderlands 3, so a chance to farm them is an incredible opportunity.
How can you farm more efficiently?
The best way that you can farm this spot more efficiently is to do it in Mayhem Mode (level three is the best version) which ups the chances of you getting rare loot drops significantly. This also makes the enemies near the Loot Tink more deadly and damage-resilient, but in the end, it’s extremely worth it. The worst that can happen is you dying before the Loot Tink dies, and if this occurs, you can just quit to the main menu and load back in to try again. Plus, if you’re quick enough, you can ambush the Loot Tink right where he spawns like we did in the video above. This spot is out of the sight lines of many of the regular foes that spawn nearby, thus giving you a clear shot at wiping out the Loot Tink and collecting his items before he retreats.
In general, don’t waste time fighting the enemies aside from the Loot Tink. It’s simply not worth it, as every second you spend battling those baddies could be spent reloading the level and going after another Loot Tink. If you’re finding it difficult to kill the Loot Tink before the enemies close by start killing you, it may be a good idea to perform the farming with FL4K the Beastmaster, as his pet can temporarily draw a significant amount of enemy attention.
When all is said and done, it’s possible to fill your backpack up completely with epic and legendary gear in just under 15 minutes provided you boost your farming efficiency by playing in Mayhem Mode and use the tactics discussed above.
Your thoughts
What do you think of this loot farm? Have you found success with it? Let me know. This farming spot is likely bugged and will be patched out by Gearbox sometime soon, so take advantage of it while you can! If this farm does end up being patched, make sure to check back on this article to see what our next favorite farming spot will be.
