Weekly poll: would you buy the Oppo Find X6 and Find X6 Pro if you could?

The era of the three main cameras has begun – but only in China. While we hope that Oppo changes its mind and does bring the new Find X6 series to the global market, all we can do for now is a full review of the X6 Pro (coming soon) and find out how those Hasselblad-branded cameras perform.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro is beautiful, especially in the gray metal plus brown leather combo. And it has one of the biggest camera islands we have ever seen, the cameras on there represent the best that smartphone tech has to offer in 2023.

This includes the 1” IMX989 sensor. The other two cameras use the IMX890, a huge 1/1.56” sensor for these application – the 110° ultrawide camera and the 65mm/2.8x periscope. All three cameras have a native resolution of 50MP and have Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), yes, even the ultrawide one.

The Pro will be up against the Xiaomi 13 Pro and the vivo X90 Pro+ and unfortunately for international buyers only the Xiaomi is available (and the non-Plus vivo X90 Pro, but that doesn’t have the tele camera to take on the Oppo). And yes, it will also compete with the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra as well, but if you read our 200MP vs. 1” shootout you will know that there is no substitute for a large sensor when it comes to serious photography.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro starts at CNY 6,000 for a 12/256GB model. A Xiaomi 13 Pro with the same memory configuration is a bit cheaper at CNY 5,800, the vivo X90 Pro+ is pricier at CNY 6,500. In Europe, the Xiaomi is a hefty €1,400, so the other two will presumably cost more if they were to launch on the Old Continent.

All three phones have large QHD+ 120Hz LTPO displays, all three are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, all three have fairly large batteries with fast charging. And all three have amazing cameras, of course.

Right now, unless you live in China there is really only one phone with a 1” camera that you can buy (there’s the Sharp too, but that’s hard to get as well). Would you buy the Oppo Find X6 Pro if it was available near you? Vote below or using this page.

There’s also the vanilla Oppo Find X6. This one switches over to the Dimensity 9200 and the screen is a standard AMOLED panel of 1,240p resolution. The main and ultrawide cameras get smaller sensors (1/1.56” and 1/2.76”, respectively), but the phone keeps the impressive periscope module of the Pro – a surprisingly bright f/2.6 lens with a 1/1.56” sensor behind it.

This one starts at CNY 4,500 for a 12/256GB unit. A base Xiaomi 13 goes for a bit more, CNY 4,600 (€1,100 in Europe), the vivo X90 Pro is CNY 5,500.

The vivo is the only one of the three with a 1” main sensor, but its zoom camera only has a 50mm lens (with a 50MP sensor it can do digital zoom on top of that). The vivo also uses the Dimensity 9200, making the Xiaomi the only one with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It’s also the only one with a lower resolution FHD+ display. The phones have comparable battery capacities, but the Oppo is the only one without wireless charging.
