Weekly poll results: the Poco M3 needs positive reviews to become successful

If last week’s poll shows anything, it is that it’s better to launch a phone before the shopping holiday, not on. The Poco M3 got a bit over 50% positive vote, which is a strong showing for an affordable phone, though most of those who are interested held off on buying one on Black Friday last week.

About 45% of voters want to see reviews before they make a decision. The M3 looks good for the price, but there were questions about the Snapdragon 662 – is it still fast enough? Especially since this phone has a 1080p display (and people did appreciate the higher resolution). The large battery and good audio hardware (stereo speakers + 3.5 mm jack) were also in the “plus” column.

Only 11% or so jumped on the Black Friday deal, which discounted the phone by $20/€20 to $130/€130. And now a glowing review becomes even more critical since the higher price brings more phones into contention – many commenters were already saying they can get a good deal on a Poco X3, which is no doubt the more capable phone.

Things to look forward to in the Poco M4? A faster chipset and an ultrawide camera will go a long way, adding NFC would also help to help change the minds of the 44% of voters who aren’t buying into the M3 package.
