Weekly poll: Poco X5 and X5 Pro – hot or not?

Poco refreshed its X-series this week, launching two models this time around – vanilla and Pro. The latter got a chipset much more suitable to its Pro moniker along with a higher quality display and main image sensor.

The Poco X5 Pro is the slimmest phone in the series at 7.9mm. It is powered by the Snapdragon 778G and is launching globally at $300/€300 for a 6/128GB unit, $250/€250 if you manage to catch the early bird offer.

The Poco X5 sticks to the Snapdragon 695 chip that was used in the X4 Pro and downgrades the camera from 108MP to 48MP. As we mentioned, the new Pro gets to use the IMX890 sensor (replacing the IMX766 of last year’s Pro) and features a 10-bit display with Dolby Vision.

The vanilla X5 gets neither of those things, but it does cost less – the same 6/128GB memory configuration is $250/€250 (or $200/€200 with the early bird deal). Both the X5 and X5 Pro launched in several countries earlier this week.

We should note that the Poco X5 Pro is launching in India a well with an MSRP of ₹23,000 (and a promise of discounts), the first sale will be on Monday, February 13. The vanilla Poco X5 is not coming, however.
