The vivo V27 is the latest device to came to our office this week so while it’s paitiently waiting for its review to start, we’ll do a quick unboxing.

The V27 ships with a mighty 80W charger, a USB cable, and a case, making for a solid package.

We have the Emerald Green vivo V27, which uses the Emerald Glass processing technique. Like vivo’s Fluorite AG Glass designs, the Emerald Glass will also change its color when exposed to UV light.

Before it’s exposed to UV, the phone is a light green that gradients to a deeper hue at the bottom of its rear panel. After UV light exposure, it becomes a much deeper and bluer hue. It’s tough to get on camera, but it’s a really eye-catching design. There is a texture underneath the smooth glass finish that we’d describe as marble-like.

The vivo V27 has a large 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display upfront that’s very bright and vivid. It’s among the better displays we’ve seen. It’s surrounded by slim bezels on all sides and the glass on top tapers towards the edges for a curved look.

As big phones go, the vivo V27 is a svelte one – it’s thin at 7.4mm and light at only 180g. vivo still managed to pack a 4,600mAh battery into this slender body.

The 50MP primary camera is a big highlight of the V27. It boasts of Real-time Extreme Night Vision and Super Night Mode, as well as low-light portrait mode and vivo’s Aura Light Portrait for bright, emphasized subjects.
