vivo iQOO Neo5 appears in 3C certification and live photo with “just” 66W fast charging

One of the more-exciting bits about the upcoming vivo iQOO Neo5, as suggested by earlier rumors, was definitely the prospect of 88W wired charging, potentially even backed-up by 66W of wireless on a more budget-friendly device, said to sell between CNY2,998 and CNY3,598 (around $464 and $572). Unfortunately, a new 3C rectification listing, as well as a live photo of the phone’s charger seem to put that to rest.

Apparently, some numbers originally got mixed-up since 3C’s data clearly indicated that the iQOO Neo5, also known by its V2055A model number, will be able to charge at 66W, through a V6650L0A0-CN charger. No mention of wireless charging either. Though, there is still a chance the phone could support it.

Corroborating the info further, a follow-up photo of the phone’s box and included “FlashCharge 66W” charger also surfaced, courtesy of Digital Chat Station. The leakster also claims that this power rate is enough to deliver a full charge to the iQOO Neo5 in 30 minutes. As far as we know from earlier data, the battery inside the handset should be 4,4000 mAh. Not too shabby, even if not record-setting.

As far as other alleged specs of the handset go, we are expecting a Snapdragon 870 chipset, along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variants are also expected. Thanks to an earlier live photo we also got a sneak peek of the phone’s front side, along with a waterdrop notch, said to house a 16MP selfie cam. The panel itself is expected to be AMOLED, with a 2400 x 1080-pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

Rounding-off the list of alleged specs, we have a 48MP Sony IMX598 main camera on the back, alongside a 13MP ultrawide and a 2MP unit, for a total of three. The vivo iQOO Neo5 should boot a custom Origin OS, based on Android 11.

We even have some preliminary pricing info. The 8GB/128GB base variant is expected to retail at around CNY 2,998 ($460), 8GB/256GB around CNY 3,298 ($510) and the top-tier 12GB/256GB should sell at around CNY 3,598 ($550). These, of course are all Chinese prices and not confirmed.
