US unlocked Galaxy S10 gets October update without new camera features

Samsung has released the October security update for the unlocked Galaxy S10 models in the US. Unfortunately, it looks like North American customers have once again been left behind when it comes to getting new features. The October update for the US doesn’t include any of the Galaxy Note 10 features that the rest of the world has received in the last couple of weeks. It’s worth noting that the Exynos-powered models, which are the ones Samsung sells globally, received those Galaxy Note 10 features as part of the September update, with the October update following just two weeks later. The unlocked US models missed out on those features even with the September update, and one can only hope that won’t be the case with the update that comes out next month.Of course, some customers will already be testing Android 10 by then, and all of the Note 10 features are likely to be included in the One UI 2.0 beta that Samsung will be launching “soon.” The beta program will be available for owners of unlocked Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ devices in the US, along with those on T-Mobile or Sprint. The Android 10 beta is also expected to launch in Germany and South Korea in the first phase. For now, if you own an unlocked Galaxy S10, S10e, or S10+, you can download the 192 MB October update — software version G97*U1UES2BSIC — over the air by going into the Settings » Software update menu on your device. You can also upgrade using firmware that we have available in our firmware archive.
