Unlocked Galaxy Z Flip gets the October 2021 security update in the US

Last week, Samsung released the October 2021 security update to the international version of the Galaxy Z Flip. And earlier this week, the update was released to the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The company has now released the latest security patch to the unlocked version of the Galaxy Z Flip in the US.

The Galaxy Z Flip (SM-F700U1) is getting a new software update on various US carrier networks. It comes with firmware version F700U1UES4EUI2 and includes the October 2021 security patch. This patch promises to fix over 60 vulnerabilities related to privacy and security. While we don’t have the changelog for this update, it could also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy Z Flip 5G user in the US, you can check for the latest update by heading to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. You can also choose to download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows computer. The carrier-locked version of the phone is yet to receive this update.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy Z Flip early last year with Android 10-based One UI 2. The smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in December 2020 and the One UI 3.1.1 update a few weeks ago.
