Unlocked Galaxy A42 5G gets Android 13 and One UI 5.0 in the USA

Last week, Samsung rolled out the Android 13 update for the carrier version of the Galaxy A42 5G in the USA. Now, the company has turned its attention toward the unlocked Galaxy A42 5G model, and as you may have guessed, the device is now getting updated with One UI 5.0.

Galaxy A42 5G (SM-A426U1) users in the USA can identify the new update by firmware version A426U1UEU4DVL3. Similar to Android 13 for the carrier model, this new update includes the November 2022 security patch. The Galaxy A42 5G appears to be lagging a bit in terms of security patches, but it should receive a new one relatively soon (either this or next month).

As usual, the big change here comes in the form of Android 13 and the accompanying One UI 5.0. The experience should have improved with minor UI refreshes and better optimization.
