Two of our favorite SSDs are already on sale ahead of Prime Day

SK hynix broke into the consumer SSD market just a couple years ago, but its Gold P31 and Gold S31 internal PC SSDs are already extremely popular for enthusiasts who want high performance without a steep price. If you’ve been waiting for the best Prime Day SSD deals to upgrade your storage, wait no longer; these SSDs are already discounted ahead of the big sales event. This is also a great opportunity to get the storage you want in a device from our roundup of the best Prime Day laptop deals.

First is the high-performance 500GB SK hynix Gold P31 M.2 PCIe SSD. Its list price of $122 has been cut down to $75 as a new regular price, but you can save a further 15% off by “clipping” the coupon on the Amazon product page. That brings the total price down to $63.74.

In my SK hynix Gold P31 review I awarded the drive with a Windows Central Recommended badge, noting the (already) value pricing, superb performance, strong warranty, and power efficiency. This is a great SSD whether you need something for gaming, work, or general purpose use, and it will work in desktop and laptops PCs.

In testing, it even beat out the Samsung 970 EVO Plus in terms of read and write speeds, another drive that is incredibly popular. I’ve been using the SK hynix Gold P31 in my gaming PC ever since, and it’s been rock solid in terms of reliability and performance. If you want to upgrade storage on a budget, this is one of the best ways to go.

If you’d rather upgrade with a 2.5-inch SATA SSD, there is also the SK hynix Gold S31. This 1TB drive has tons of space for bulk storage (great for games that don’t necessarily need M.2 read and write speeds), it has a long five-year warranty, good endurance, and excellent performance. Read speeds generally hit up to about 560MB/s, while write speeds hit up to about 530MB/s.

The Gold S31 has already seen a rather severe and permanent price drop from its $160 list price, now coming in regularly at $105. But for Prime Day you can save an additional 15% by clipping the coupon on the Amazon page. That brings the price down to $89.24 when everything is considered. That’s a great price for 1TB of storage, making it a deal you don’t want to miss if you’re upgrading your PC’s storage.
