Top streamer Shroud departs Twitch in favor of Mixer
Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek is one of the largest streamers on Twitch, best known for his insane play in FPS titles and competitive nature in events. He’s also a former professional CS:GO player, having been part of Cloud9 before stepping away in 2017. Shroud attracted an audience on Twitch playing games like PUBG, CS:GO, Call of Duty Black Ops 4: Blackout, Rainbow Six Siege, Apex Legends, and World of Warcraft.
Shroud has previously gone on record discussing Twitch and Mixer, though it wasn’t known that he would follow Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins and jump ship. Microsoft has signed up Shroud to stream exclusively on Mixer.
Details surrounding this deal are unknown, though this is a clear victory for Microsoft, scoring yet another figure from Twitch. Having Ninja onboard gave Mixer a huge boost and it’s likely to have the same effect with Shroud. While some Mixer fans will not enjoy the sudden injection of people onto the platform, having influencers like these are a sure way to encourage growth.
Like Ninja, you can subscribe to Shroud’s channel on Mixer for free until the promotion comes to an end on November 22.
