TicWatch 3 Pro gets Wear OS update – new features and performance boost
The TicWatch Pro 3 is getting the latest H-MR2 Wear OS smartwatch update, which delivers a heap of fixes, features and performance improvements.
The TicWatch Pro 3 launched back in October 2020 and was the first run on the latest Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform.
In terms of new features the TicWatch Pro 3 gets a new option to disable the long-press power button to activate Google Assistant, the new Weather tile (along with UV indicator) and a new theater mode.
The latest H-MR2 brings performance improvements to the 4100 platform – although doesn’t quantify exactly what. We’re hoping for both a faster and slicker experience and adding even more onto the battery life.

TicWatch users will also benefit from improvements to the UI and the Mobvoi launcher, so getting to apps is slicker and smoother.
Updates to Google Wear OS can be an almost random experience, with huge variations in rollout thanks to the onus being put on individual manufacturers to launch new features. Many watches won’t even receive the update at all, so it’s great to know that the TicWatch Pro 3 will get the latest features.
The watch is the flagship for Wear OS, and it’s still the only consumer smartwatch to run on the latest Snapdragon Wear 4100 silicone.
Mobvoi quoted three days of battery life from the TicWatch 3, but we got just two in testing. We’re hoping that performance improvements to 4100 can add even more longevity.
To update connect the TicWatch Pro 3 to the charging dock and check the app for the update. Mobvoi has said the update should be available to all users by Saturday 23 April.
