This Xbox Series X controller sale is an unexpected Black Friday treat

Microsoft launched its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles just a couple of weeks ago, and we’re now presented with a Black Friday surprise, already cutting the price of its new controllers. The two latest consoles both ship with a redesigned gamepad, which, while taking inspiration from Xbox One, several upgrades shake up everyday use. But this Black Friday brings the first-ever discount on these controllers, now available from $39, their lowest price yet.

The new Xbox wireless controllers ship in three colors; Carbon Black, Robot White, and Shock Blue. They all feature new exclusive features, including improved in-hand ergonomics, a dedicated Share button for screenshots and video, and new textured triggers. Microsoft also took notes from its Xbox Elite Controller, with USB-C charging and a d-pad inspired by its flagship controller design.

Here are almost 200 of the absolute BEST Black Friday deals available

And while suited for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, these also work on Xbox One, PC, and even Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices. You can score the best Xbox gamepads in black and white for just $39 this Black Friday from Amazon, while its special edition blue drops to $45.

We’ve been using the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S controllers for over one month, and their redesigned in-hand feel often makes it hard to return to the old Xbox One design. It improves upon an already well-received controller silhouette, designed to accommodate various hand sizes. The new textured triggers, while subtle, also contribute to that more “premium” feel this time around.

The Share button, while already standard with the PS4 and Nintendo Switch, also streamlines how you capture your clips and screenshots. You no longer need to tackle the pop-out Guide menu mid-game, with a single tap or hold triggering the shortcuts without disruption.

And even with new features, they still support the same devices as the Xbox One controllers, including your accessories. The same peripherals port and 3.5mm headphone jack sit on the underside, allowing you to use the same headset as the prior generation.

If you need a new Xbox controller, there’s little reason not to choose one of these.
