This Samsung gaming monitor is amazing, and it’s $200 off right now

There are no doubt tons of gaming monitors to grab during the Black Friday bonanza. Out of all of the sales you’ll see, though, the Samsung C27HG70 is, for my money, the best buy. This solid gaming monitor is $200 off at Amazon, bringing its price down to a much easier-to-swallow $399.

I bought the Samsung C27HG70 at full price, and I’m kind of kicking myself in the butt for not waiting for it to go on sale. Still, I’m glad I got it because, as the monitor I use every day for work and gaming, it’s been a stellar performer across the board.

The 27-inch display packs a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, which is a must for games that require twitch reaction speed. The QHD resolution keeps everything crispy without taxing my graphics card too hard, and the HDR looks stellar with games that support it. On top of all of that, there’s support for FreeSync here, which ensures your incoming frames are buttery smooth.

Moreover, I love how adjustable this monitor is. The base isn’t too obtrusive, and the arm attached to the display can be moved to just about any position you can think of. Samsung also uses a clever little bit of cable management to route the cables through the top of the arm, keeping them satisfyingly out of sight.

If there’s one drawback here, it’s that the display is curved. I actually like this because it makes things a little more immersive, but there are some people out there who prefer flat panels. If you count yourself among the latter Samsung has a load of other gaming monitors on sale for as little as $260 with similar features.
