This Galaxy S22 Ultra dummy unit doesn’t have S Pen slot, but don’t let that worry you

A few days ago pictures of a dummy Galaxy S22 made the rounds on the internet. It showed a design that’s indistinguishable from the Galaxy S21, and that’s because Samsung is not expected to change the S21 series’ excellent design for the Galaxy S22 and S22+.

Only the Galaxy S21 Ultra is rumored to be getting a visual refresh, at least at the back. The S22 Ultra could have a new P-shaped camera housing that doesn’t extend into the metal frame like it does on the S21 Ultra (and the other two S21 models), and that possibility is being supported by pictures and video of a Galaxy S22 Ultra dummy unit published by the folks over at CoverPigtou.

However, S Pen fans might be more interested in the fact that this particular dummy unit doesn’t have any stylus cutout at the bottom. But that doesn’t mean the S22 Ultra won’t feature a built-in S Pen slot since dummy units aren’t always an exact replica of the final product. Given Samsung’s push to break the S Pen’s Note exclusivity this year, the S22 Ultra will most likely be able to house the S Pen inside instead of needing a bulky case to carry it around.

However, since the Galaxy S22 series has yet to go official, everything is speculation and hearsay until the inevitable hard leaks start happening closer to its launch.
