This excellent app makes Galaxy Z Flip 3’s cover screen more useful

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a more durable design, faster performance, a better main screen, and a bigger cover display compared to the Galaxy Z Flip. However, the cover screen is still not as big as we would like it to be, and you can do only a few things on it. But a developer took it upon himself to make that screen more usable.

A new mod from Android app developer Jagan2 makes the Galaxy Z Flip 3’s cover display more usable. Dubbed CoverScreen OS, the mod allows you to access the app drawer, use apps, use quick setting toggles, take notification actions, and even make Samsung Pay mobile payments directly from the foldable phone’s cover display.

The app also allows you to turn the cover screen’s orientation to portrait so that you can use some apps without messing up the UI elements. You can add third-party and stock widgets, use the voice keyboard to reply to messages, and even watch YouTube videos. However, the screen is still too small to comfortably do any of these things.

We generally do not recommend using third-party mods on Galaxy smartphones or tablets, so be cautious if you want to try it. The CoverScreen OS is available on the Play Store.

We hope that Samsung will use a bigger and squarer cover display on the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The company should also take some inspiration from the CoverScreen OS mod and allow users to do more things on the cover display.
