There might not be a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE this year

The fate of the Galaxy S23 FE appears to be getting more uncertain. Although a report claimed that Samsung could release the next Fan Edition smartphone in the second half of 2023, that may have just been wishful thinking.

Samsung might not release the Galaxy S23 FE in 2023, says @rquandt in a fresh tweet. The source has an accurate track record of revealing unofficial information ahead of time, and according to him, it “sure doesn’t look like there’ll be an S23 FE this year.”

No additional information was shared, so we can only assume that there’s little evidence of this Fan Edition phone’s existence as of now. Which could mean anything. Maybe Samsung will want to release the Galaxy S23 FE early next year, or maybe it won’t. Maybe the Fan Edition series is dead, or maybe Samsung will bring it back eventually.

For the moment, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of evidence supporting the possibility of a 2023 release for the Galaxy S23 FE. A different — and not always reliable — source claimed last month that the S23 FE could be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. But as of now, nothing is certain.

Other rumors speculated that Samsung could skip the Galaxy A74 this year in favor of releasing the Galaxy S23 FE. But as far as speculations go, Samsung could very well cancel both phones and make the Galaxy A54 and the base Galaxy S23 the only upper-mid-range and entry-level high-end smartphones in 2023. Time will tell.

The Galaxy S23 is now available for $799, and Samsung may release the Galaxy A54 on March 16. In Europe, the mid-range phone should cost around €500. In the lower-mid-range segment, the company is expected to announce the Galaxy A34 for roughly €400.
