Netflix’s The Witcher premiered in December, and it’s already the streaming service’s most popular show. Netflix sure does have a lot of confidence in the series. It’s so popular that the only swordsmith licensed to make the swords has been innundated with requests.
In a report by PC Gamer, Artur Wysocki said that he has hundreds of emails asking for replicas. You can read an excerpt from the article below.
Swordsmith Artur Wysocki has too many emails: Over 300 in the past few days, he says. After The Witcher on Netflix spurred a renewed interest in the Witcher books and games, the only smith licensed by CD Projekt to forge and sell swords based on the designs of the games will likely have a few more requests than usual. Kaer Morhen Forge is a hobby and side-business for Wysocki, and he doesn’t keep any in stock, but crafts the weapons for between €400 to €900 on commission… His ‘silver swords,’ such as the Mastercrafted Wolven Silver Sword, are actually steel, but can be galvanized in silver… which a buyer unconcerned with cost might be able to request.
One of those emails is mine I have to admit. Hopefully, he’ll be able to fulfill my request soon, but I’m not counting on it. That’s a lot of emails and requests! If you want to check out the swords and place an order, just go here. Keep in mind that if you want a silver-plated sword, it’ll cost you more, much more. I just went with the steel one because it shows the beauty of the metal, without anything covering it.
If you’re not one for collecting swords, you can always check out The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game, on Xbox One. It’s available as a disc, download, or free if you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber.
