2020 saw millions of people have to work, teach, and learn from home. Microsoft Teams skyrocketed in usage this year, hitting 115 million daily active users by November. Bundling Teams with Office turned out to be a brilliant decision by Microsoft, as many organizations chose Teams over competing apps and services. Microsoft Teams is now available on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux. The app saw several major updates and new features over the year as well, including Together mode, increased grid views on all platforms, and integrations with popular services like Slack and Box.
