The Razer Basilisk V2 is a fantastic wired mouse that’s on sale for $35

The Razer Basilisk V2 wired optical gaming mouse is on sale for $34.99 through Amazon. This is the continuation of a price drop we saw during the Black Friday shopping season. The mouse sold out in a lot of places after that initial sale and even jumped in price in a few places. Now it’s back in stock and ready to go. The mouse has been selling for around $50 since last September and saw jumps as high as $80 before that. We’ve never seen it go lower than today’s deal.

The Basilisk V2 is a fantastic mouse, and when we first reviewed it we gave it 4.5 stars out of 5 with a Recommended badge. It really improved on the success of the first generation. Richard Devine called it “an extremely ergonomic, lightweight mouse that’s even more comfortable to use than ever before.”

Razer has since replaced the V2 with a third generation that includes a smarter scroll wheel. We also reviewed that one just a few months ago, and it’s just as good as the second version with some decent improvements. Of course, the Basilisk V3 is also much more expensive right now at twice the price of the V2 on Amazon when compared to today’s deal. When a new generation comes out, the older generation generally gets discontinued so it’s a safe bet we won’t be seeing a whole lot of V2 deals in the future as the stock runs out again.

The Basilisk V2 includes a 20,000 DPI sensor, and it has an on-the-fly button dedicated to adjusting that DPI even while you’re in the middle of something. Since it can be adjusted in increments, that means you can change it based on the game you’re playing. The switches on this mouse also activate very quickly and easily thanks to the light beam actuation that uses real tiny beams of light to register every press of the button.

Customize all the different parts of this mouse. You’ll have 11 programmable buttons to decide what to do with. Plus Razer Chroma means full RGB lighting you can create effects for. Beyond that, Chroma also lets you sync your mouse’s lighting with other Razer gear and third party hardware like Philips Hue smart lights. You’ll need the Razer Synapse software for all of that.
