The Outer Worlds launches on Xbox Game Pass
The Outer Worlds is a first-person adventure game from Obsidian Entertainment. Despite the fact that the team is now a part of Xbox Game Studios, this game is available on PlayStation 4 — and will be coming to Nintendo Switch down the line.
If you’ve been waiting for the title for a while, you’ll be happy to know that it’s finally available on Xbox One and PC through Xbox Game Pass. You can either purchase it for $60, or play it through Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One or PC. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers both subscriptions and Xbox Live Gold for $15 a month.
The Outer Worlds is Xbox One X Enhanced and features 4K resolution and 4K textures just like the PC version. The frame rate appears to be locked to 30 frames per second though, unlike the PC port. The PlayStation 4 Pro version doesn’t appear to feature 4K textures and only renders at 1440p.

In Windows Central’s review, Jez Corden wrote, “The Outer Worlds is a tremendous role-playing game that feels like the culmination of Obsidian Entertainment’s efforts with similar franchises over the years. As a fan of classic BioWare and Bethesda games, The Outer Worlds not only scratches the itch, but exceeds the legacy of the titles it draws inspiration from in some ways.”
