The latest Xbox Series X|S update added an original Xbox dynamic background
Owners of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S owners were already treated yesterday with the release of the Xbox May Update, which included lots of awesome improvements to Xbox Quick Resume, a new dynamic background with ‘Motes,’ Xbox Game Pass changes, and more. However, it looks like members of the growing Xbox Insider Program actually gained another new addition with the Xbox May Update with a second dynamic background.
While ‘Motes’ looks amazing, ‘The Original’ will be nostalgic euphoria for Xbox fans that have been here since the original Xbox (which turns twenty years old this year!). If you’re a member of the Xbox Insider Program and own an Xbox Series X or S, be sure to install the Xbox May Update and check to see if you have access to the new dynamic background! As expected, ‘The Original’ closely matches the unique and immediately recognizable background of the original Xbox, and it looks amazing on Xbox Series X|S.
If you’re not a member of the Xbox Insider Program, it’s not clear if you can join now and retroactively get ‘The Original’ dynamic background, but it’s certainly worth a try! The Xbox Insider Program lets you submit feedback directly to Microsoft on what you want to see improve or change on Xbox, gives you sneak peeks at future updates and features, and can even give you access to game previews and beta programs like Minecraft and more.
‘The Original’ dynamic background on Xbox Series X|S looks incredible, and it’s right at home with all the best Xbox games, which, thanks to backward compatibility, includes games from the original Xbox.

The media remotes to get for your new Xbox Series X or Series S
The new Xbox Series X and Series S aren’t quite the home entertainment giants their predecessor was, but they’re still very good with access to all the top digital streaming media services. And that means you’re going to be doing more than just gaming, and for that you need a good remote. It’s a better way to go than a controller for sure.
