The Hidden Cup 3 tournament for Age of Empires II: DE starts March 19

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is a faithful reimagining of the infamous classic real-time-strategy gem. A ton of players enraptured by the first version have returned en masse to experience the remastered Definitive Edition, and of course that means tournaments to decide the best strategist and leader have to take place. That’s why the Hidden Cup 3 tournament finals are taking place starting March 19, 2020 all the way to March 22, 2020.

The tournament will feature ranked AoE II: DE players from countries all over the world, pitting them together in heated battles until, eventually, one will emerge ultimately victorious. The players are given new game usernames, so they’ll be mostly anonymous, and won’t be able to tell who their opponents are. The same will hold true for the audience. If you’re interested, you can find more information on Age of Empire’s blog.

In our review we said “It’s a true update to one of the greatest RTS games ever made, and it’s never been more enjoyable to play,” and gave it a very favorable score of 4.5 stars.

An RTS for the ages

A lot of game for the asking price

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition manages to make the classic RTS feel new while not straying away from what made the game great in the first place.
