Halo developer 343 Industries has officially launched the first-ever test flight on Xbox One for Halo: Reach’s transition to the Master Chief Collection. Invite emails have been sent out to Halo Insiders that have been selected, and the email will contain information about how to install this flight build on Xbox One.
Per a recent blog post, players who were MCC Insiders in 2018 will need to delete their old MCC Insider installations and opt out of the MCC Insider flighting rings in order to gain access to this new Halo Insider test flight. This can be done within the Xbox Insider app.
343 Industries’ main goal with this flight is to test out Halo: Reach’s player-versus-player (PvP) systems and make sure they are operating efficiently during times of server stress caused by higher populations of players. On top of that, the developers also want to collect feedback from players regarding the “feel” of the game, how it runs, and whether or not the community likes the amount and type of content that 343 Industries included.
It’s important to note that this flight is not for PC players like the previous two Halo: Reach flights have been. This flight is for Xbox One only, so if you’re a Halo Insider that signed up for the program with only a PC and not an Xbox One, you won’t receive an invitation.
If you haven’t already, we strongly advise signing up for the Halo Insider Program, as being a part of it is the best way to help 343 Industries bring Halo: Reach to both PC and the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. It’ll also help bring many other Halo games to PC. If you’re looking to get your hands on some full Halo games right now, make sure to check out the Master Chief Collection.
