The Division 2 update 6.1 adds hardcore mode and snowball gun

The Division 2 is the sequel to the popular first game that launched back in 2016. The game is a third-person military shooter that tasks you with stopping malicious forces from seizing control of the government in the District of Columbia.

Today, Ubisoft announced that Title Update 6.1 is coming to all players on December 10. Since it’s Holiday 2019, the update adds a themed in-game event called Situation: Snowball. If you see an enemy wearing a bright red Santa hat, kill them so you can get the snowball guns. As expected, it shoots snowballs. It’s unclear if this gun does actual damage though, but only time will tell. If you log in between December 10, 2019 and January 7, 2020, you’ll get your own Santa hat to celebrate the holidays.

This update also brings Hardcore Mode beta. Just like hardcore modes in other games, death is permanent. This seems like the ultimate challenge, so you should probably always play with a friend for some added support. What are you excited about most in this update? Let us know.
