The base OnePlus 9 Pro is not coming to North America, 12/256 GB model is $100 off

We have some good news and some bad news for North American fans of OnePlus – the more affordable configuration of the OnePlus 9 Pro, the one with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage, will not be available in the US or Canada. It was part of the original launch plan, but supply issues made it a no-go.

Here’s a statement from the company issued to Android Police:

“The OnePlus 9 Pro 8×128 GB variant was originally set to be sold in North America for $969. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen supply constraints specific to North American devices, we recently concluded it is no longer possible to bring this configuration to the United States and Canada. In North America we are prioritizing the 12×256 GB version to ensure our users have access to the highest spec device.”

We did promise you some good news – the 9 Pro is enjoying a summertime discount that is valid until July 21. Using the code BESTOP9PRO you can get USD 100/CAD 120 off the 12/256 GB model, which drops its price to USD 970/CAD 1,380. This is how much the 8/128 GB model would have cost, so you can think of this as a free upgrade.
