Telegram’s last update for 2022 brings a bunch of cool new features

WhatsApp’s rival, Telegram, pushed a new update right before 2023 started. According to the official blog, the latest update for the Telegram app brings a bunch of new features, including hiding media with spoiler effects, new ways to save space on your device, new drawing tools, suggested profile pictures, and much more.

Out of the bunch, the best feature is that Telegram users can now easily hide their messages using the spoiler effect. They will be revealed only after the recipient taps on the message. Previously, the spoiler feature was limited to text messages, but now it has been expanded to photos and videos. The new “Hide with spoiler” option can be accessed in the latest Telegram app update by tapping the 3-dot menu icon on the top-right corner of the media selection window.

Telegram is also getting new storage management options. For better management, Telegram will show you a pie chart, helping you better understand what is eating up your local space. After analyzing it, users can make the decision to delete photos, videos, and other items to free up space. Once the images are deleted, you can re-download them from the Telegram cloud. You also get tools to set up auto-delete rule sets for new and existing chats.

Apart from these two major features, Telegram’s latest update is also bringing new progress animations, drawing tools, and the ability to set up custom profile photos for others in their contacts. Admins with a group of 100+ members can now choose to hide the member list, avoiding the possibility of spamming contacts. Premium Telegram users are getting 10 new animated emojis. The new Telegram update is rolling out widely starting on December 30, 2022.

If you haven’t received the update, then you should pay a visit to the Google Play Store and check if there is a pending Telegram update available or not.
