Microsoft updated several Surface tools that allow IT admins to secure, diagnose, and manage Surface devices. The tools now support the newly announced Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3. These tools are available for almost all other Surface devices, and now support Microsoft’s newest additions to the Surface family.
Microsoft summarizes the updated tools in a recent post:
- Surface Data Eraser. Allows you to perform a secure wipe of all data from compatible Surface devices.
- Surface Diagnostic Tool for Business. Provides a range of diagnostic tests and software repairs to quickly investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and firmware issues with Surface devices.
- Surface Enterprise Management Mode. Allows you to secure and manage firmware settings within your organization.
Microsoft points out that the latest version of Surface Brightness Control already supports the new devices and adds that the original Surface Dock does as well following a firmware update.
