Star Wars game by Quantic Dream announced at Game Awards

The game is set during the High Republic and is in early development. It’s described as an action-adventure game with branching storylines. There will be multiple playable characters as well. While it’s unclear which characters you can play, well-known characters like Yoda can be seen in the trailer. We also see what looks like the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

No other information like release date or platforms are available at this time. However, In Lucasfilm Games’ announcement, it said it would be publishing games across platforms, so it’s likely Eclipse will be multi-platform as well. While Quantic Dream has previously been PlayStation exclusive, but studio founder David Cage has said he’s interested in cloud gaming and using it to push games to multiple platforms.

However, the game did leak previously today, with Lucasfilm Games reportedly posting the trailer but removing it quickly.

The High Republic era is an era of Star Wars canon that has recently been explored in books, starting with Light of the Jedi, which published earlier this year. It takes place around 200 years before the start of the Skywalker Saga.

The next Quantic Dream project has been rumored for a few months now, and we’ve known it was a Star Wars game thanks to reports from VGC and others. The studio has also bee in the news this year after successfully suing French newspaper Le Monde for libel. The newspaper previously published claims that the studio had a toxic work environment.
