Splinter Cell animated series reportedly in the works at Netflix

Ubisoft heard everyone’s pleas and it looks like we’re getting more Splinter Cell action… in the form of an animated series at Netflix. At least that’s according to sources speaking with Variety, who broke the news.

Netflix has apparently picked up the series for a two season, 16 episode run. John Wick writer Derek Kolstad is set to serve as a writer and executive producer on the series. It is unknown when this series is set to debut.

Given the success of animated shows on Netflix like the Castelvania series, here’s hoping the studio can knock this one out of the park. While fans have been clamoring for a new Splinter Cell game for ages, they’ve yet to receive one. Instead, Ubisoft has decided to add Sam Fisher into other Tom Clancy titles like Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, coming to mobile devices, and Rainbow Six Siege, which is apparently prepping a Splinter Cell crossover for August.
