Sony Xperia 1 III arrives for pre-order in Russia, costs $1,300
Sony has announced its third generation of Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 flagships but stayed silent on the pricing and availability.
However, both phones have already appeared for pre-order on Sony Russia’s official store, and the prices are quite fascinating on their own – the Xperia 1 III is over $1,300, while the Xperia 5 III is north of $1,100.
Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III
The actual prices are in Russian rubles, and the Xperia 1 III technically is RUB99,990, which can also be translated to €1,095. For that price, Russian users will get a 12/256 GB smartphone in Black – there are no other options. However, Sony will throw a pair of WF-1000XM3 earphones for free.
Similar is the situation with the smaller Xperia 5 III. Its price in Russia is RUB84,990, which is equal to about €930. It has one memory option of 8/256 GB, but at least the color choices are two – Black or Green. All purchases will also come with a free pair of WF-XB700 TWS earphones.
Sony Russia says both phones are currently out of stock and will start shipping “soon”, and our tipster Josip says the launch is scheduled for July 20, but we cannot confirm the date yet.
