Yesterday, Microsoft delivered a deep dive into the specs of its upcoming Xbox Series X and, would you look at this, Sony has confirmed it will detail upcoming PlayStation 5.
The specs are coming via a stream tomorrow on the official PlayStation Blog, led by PS5’s lead system architect Mark Cherny.
What we know so far is that the next-gen console is that, like the Xbox Series X, it will use a custom-made AMD CPU, based on the 7nm Zen 2 architecture and will use AMD’s Radeon Navi family GPUs with Ray-tracing support (again, like the Xbox Series X).
Tomorrow at 9am Pacific Time, PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny will provide a deep dive into PS5’s system architecture, and how it will shape the future of games.
The PlayStation 5 will ship with an SSD, like the Xbox Series X, and support 8K graphics, once again, like the next-gen Xbox.
The PlayStation 5 will be compatible with PS4 games and be ready in the Holiday season of 2020.
