Second Galaxy S20 One UI 3.0 beta firmware now out in the US

It has been a week since the Galaxy S20 One UI 3.0 beta went live in the United States for the general public. The beta was previously available in the country but only for registered developers. With the public beta program, Samsung is allowing anyone with a Galaxy S20 series device to test the new firmware.

Within a week, Samsung has sent out a new beta firmware for testers in the United States. That was to be expected, as the company incorporates feedback from testers and makes any fixes that may be required.

New One UI 3.0 beta firmware released in the US

Those participating in the One UI 3.0 beta program will now be putting the second beta firmware through its paces. The changelog doesn’t mention much so it’s quite likely that only minor changes have been made.

Those who already have the beta running on their device will soon receive an update notification for firmware version G988U1UEU1ZTJA. Don’t postpone installing it because you can only put off the installation for a maximum of three times.

The changelog mentions that this new beta firmware brings device stability improvements, bug fixes and makes further improvements to performance. This is pretty standard language when there’s nothing major being shipped with the firmware. It does come with the latest security patch for the month of October 2020.

Samsung also rolled out the One UI 3.0 beta today for Galaxy S20 users in Germany. There are a handful of other countries which will eventually receive the beta as well. Look out for the beta program to expand in the coming weeks.
