Sea of Thieves to get Xbox Series X enhancements
Today, Microsoft detailed Xbox Series X enhancements for older games. Titles can be boosted to 4K resolution, gain high dynamic range (HDR) colors, and double the frame rate. For example, 30 frames per second (FPS) games can go to 60 FPS, and 60 FPS games can go to 120 FPS.
The team across in Redmond are doing an incredible job, as they always do.
And no, we’re not telling you how Sea of Thieves is going to be benefitting yet, but this article gives some clues… https://t.co/390BkWHW8P pic.twitter.com/uQm98VnE4K— Joe “Three Sheets” Neate (@JoeNeate1) May 28, 2020
Sea of Thieves is a first-person pirate adventure set in a vast open world. Today, Executive Producer Joe ‘Three Sheets’ Neate, as he’s called nowadays, said that the game would benefit from the Xbox Series X, and that details would be revealed at a later time.
Since Sea of Thieves already runs at 4K resolution and features HDR, this could mean that the frame rate will be boosted from 30 FPS to 60 FPS. However, Neate’s statement could also mean that it’ll see visual enhancements. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more. Until then, keep in mind that this is all speculation.
