Samsung’s QD-OLED makes its way into Asus’ monitor with Google TV

Many brands have used Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels for their gaming monitors. However, for the first time, they are powering a gaming monitor with Google TV. That’s right.

Asus has launched the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG. It features Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panel along with Google TV. From what we could gather, this is the first product of its kind.

The Asus ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG features Samsung Display’s 34-inch QD-OLED with 3,440 x 1,440 pixels resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate (probably with support for Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro), and a 99% coverage of DCI-P3 colour gamut. It also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

It comes with support for Chromecast and Miracast, and is pre-loaded for GeForce Now for cloud gaming. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6.0. At the moment, there’s no information about other features, prices, or availability of the monitor. We expect Asus to announce those details in the next few weeks.
