Samsung’s new mid-range phones could be too pricey for India

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy A34 5G and the Galaxy A54 5G within the next few days. Yesterday, their European pricing was leaked. Now, the Indian pricing for the two smartphones has leaked, and we think they could be too pricey for the mid-range smartphone segment in India.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy A34 5G will be priced around the INR 30,000 (around $366) mark in India. The Galaxy A54 5G, on the other hand, could be priced as high as INR 40,000 (around $488). That’s a 15% price hike for the Galaxy A54 5G compared to the Galaxy A53 5G (INR 35,000). The phones will reportedly launch in India on March 16, 2023.

If this information is correct, the smartphone could face some serious competition from rival phones that are much more powerful, featuring chips like the Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and the Dimensity 9000. Although the Exynos 1380 is decently powerful, its GPU is not as powerful as the ones in rival chips, so gaming may not be as smooth.
