Samsung’s first Galaxy S Fan Edition phone gets a new update
The October 2024 security update is rolling out to the Galaxy S20 FE, Samsung’s first Fan Edition Galaxy S smartphone, just a few weeks after the latest model went on sale. Unlike the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra, the S20 FE continues to receive monthly security updates, and the October security patch is now available for it.
In Korea, the S20 FE October 2024 update is rolling out to the 5G variant and can be identified by the build number G781NKSS9GXJ1. In Europe, the update is available for both the 4G and 5G variants and sports the build number that ends with the characters FXJ3 or HXJ3.
To get the update on your S20 FE, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. It is also available for download in our firmware library if you wish to manually upgrade your phone, though you will need a Windows PC and a USB-C cable for this.
This is a developing story…
