Samsung’s 2023 TVs get Circadian Rhythm Display certification from VDE

Samsung has announced that its new Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs for 2023 have received ‘Circadian Rhythm Display’ certification from VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker). It certifies that the Eye Comfort feature in Samsung’s latest TVs helps people maintain a healthy Circadian Rhythm so that they sleep and wake up on time.

Circadian Rhythm is our body’s internal clock that tells us when to sleep and wake up. This clock, which resets every 24 hours, works by responding to the light in our surroundings. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been spending a lot more time indoors than they used to before. It means they are not being exposed to the natural light that keeps changing throughout the day. Due to this, their Circadian Rhythm goes out of sync, which might cause irregular sleep patterns and alertness issues.

Samsung is trying to address this issue with a feature called Eye Comfort that the company is offering with some of its 2023 TVs. It adjusts the display’s brightness and color temperate to mimic natural outdoor light. This feature claims to keep your Circadian Rhythm in check, and VDE, a German electrical engineering certification institute, approves it. That means Samsung’s 2023 TVs with Eye Comfort will help you sleep on time even if you stay indoors watching TV.

The Eye Comfort feature will be available in the Neo QLED lineup in Q70C and higher variants. In the Lifestyle series, the feature will be available in The Frame, The Serif, and The Sero models. Samsung has also announced that its TVs have received Eye Care certification from VDE, Glare-Free certification from UL, and color accuracy certification from Pantone. Recently, the company also introduced Relumino Mode, which helps people with visual impairment to see the content on TV more clearly.
