Samsung’s 2020 Frame TV line coming to India, but only via Flipkart

Samsung’s 2020 revision of The Frame smart TV lineup is finally on the verge of launching in India. As things stand right now, however, the release will be exclusive to Flipkart. No specific availability date has yet been attached to the new Samsung TVs and it’s equally unclear how many models from the new product family will actually be making their way to the South Asian country. Be that as it may, between last year’s models being unavailable for orders and Flipkart already putting out a new teaser page for their 2020 successors, it appears Samsung’s latest state-of-the-art TVs will be coming to India sooner rather than later.Much like previous Frame-branded Samsung TVs, the main selling point of the 2020 models is that they can double as art fixtures when not in active use. Consumers won’t necessarily be asked to break the bank for that luxury, either; the 2019 series started at the equivalent of $780 (Rs. 85,000) and the new models should be in a similar ballpark.New frames, more artThe Frame teaser page on Flipkart is still light on details, though the timing of its appearance is indicative of an imminent release. Namely, it coincides with the expansion of Samsung’s digital artwork portfolio which includes 38 new pieces from the Spanish Thyssen Museum as of earlier this week. More classical artwork is expected to follow suit in the near future, especially after Samsung doubled down on its artistic TV strategy as part of its ongoing #StayAtHome campaign.Recent rumors also point to Samsung expanding its 2019 lineup to include more models beyond the existing 55- and 65-inch TVs. By most accounts, the Korean tech giant will be going bigger this year, which likely means a price increase is on the cards. Customizable studio stands and wall frames compatible with the new smart television sets are once again expected to be sold separately.
