Samsung teams up with ABB for a smarter home
Samsung and industrial technology giant ABB have announced a partnership that will integrate SmartThings with ABB’s free@home solutions.
This means that people and businesses will be able to control the multitude of smart home devices from ABB’s automation fleet with Samsung phones.
ABB makes all sorts of hardware from solar panels, automated locks, refrigerators, washers, dryers, lights, cameras and security devices to heating equipment and remote control blinds.
SmartThings features a neat device control tab that’s easily accessible from your Samsung phone’s drop-down shade.
ABB’s smart home solutions already work with Google’s Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Adding SmartThings support will likely open the door to Bixby control as well.
