Last week, Samsung unveiled a fun new projector—The Freestyle—at CES 2022. Today, the company has announced that it has started taking pre-orders for the device in South Korea. The Freestyle will be available for pre-order till 20 January, and those who pre-order the projector will get various benefits.
The Freestyle is priced at KRW 1,190,000 (around $999) in South Korea. It will be available through 11th Street, GMarket, Kakao, Naver, Samsung Digital Plaza, and Samsung’s online store. All pre-orders will come bearing benefits, including a two-year standard pass for TVING video streaming service, a stand for the projector, and a power bank for the device.
Samsung has also partnered with Shilla Stay hotel for The Freestyle. Those who pre-register through the Shilla website can try out the new projector in The Freestyle Cinema room. Customers participating in this event can get a voucher worth KRW 100,000. Lucky customers can also get a limited-edition The Freestyle x Shilla Stay key ring if they participate in a review after event.
The Freestyle features
The Freestyle is a portable projector with a built-in smart speaker. It can display up to a 100-inch screen on any flat surface and features auto keystone correction and auto-leveling technologies. Its cylindrical-shaped projector head can be easily adjusted up to 180 degrees, thanks to its innovative stand. We already went hands-on with The Freestyle, and you can watch our video below.
Since it runs Samsung’s Tizen OS for TVs, it comes pre-loaded with various audio and video streaming apps, including Samsung TV Plus. It also features far-field mics for listening to voice commands. The new projector can automatically project visuals according to the music that’s being played. It weighs just 830g and can be powered by a 50W power bank or a USB Type-C charger.
