Samsung starts accepting pre-orders for Smart Monitor in South Korea

Samsung unveiled its first Smart Monitor three weeks ago. It is a Tizen-powered monitor that can double up as a smart TV, becoming the perfect display for the work-from-home era. Today, the South Korean firm has announced that it has started accepting pre-orders for the Smart Monitor in South Korea.

There are three variants of the Smart Monitor: 27-inch M5, 32-inch M5, and 32-inch M7. The 27-inch M5 is priced at KRW 350,000 (around $323) in South Korea, while the 32-inch M5 costs KRW 410,000 (around $379). The 32-inch M7 Smart Monitor is priced at KRW 550,000 (around $507) in Samsung’s home market. All three variants of the Smart Monitor are now available for pre-order via Kakao Shopping. Samsung will sell these monitors via its own website from December 28. The Smart Monitor is also available through 11th Street, Auction, G9, and G Market with free shipping.

The Smart Monitor runs Tizen and uses a QLED panel with 250 nits of peak brightness. The 27-inch and the 32-inch variants of the M5 feature Full HD screen resolution, while the 32-inch M7 uses a 4K panel. They come with One Remote, have HDR10+ certification, and feature 10W stereo speakers. They feature two HDMI ports, a USB Type-C port with 65W USB PD for charging connected devices, Wi-Fi 5, AirPlay 2, and Bluetooth 4.2. Other features include Bixby, Wireless DeX, screen mirroring, Remote Access, and Office 365. These smart monitors can run all the audio and video streaming apps, including Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, that are available on Samsung’s smart TVs.
