Samsung shows how it designed Smart City housing with Siemens in the US

Samsung’s SmartThings Energy service is aimed at creating a sustainable world by reducing energy consumption. Now, Samsung is taking SmartThings Energy to the next level by partnering with Siemens on their sustainable Smart City project in Sterling Ranch, Colorado, USA.

With this project, Samsung aims to implement SmartThings Energy at the core of this sustainable housing project, where the household’s energy requirements will be generated within the home itself. The Samsung Smart City sustainable housing project will be powered by SmartThings connectivity.

The Sterling Ranch sustainable housing community will produce and store energy at home using solar power. Moreover, all houses will use the AI Energy Mode in the Samsung appliances to save energy, and energy can be monitored using the SmartThings app. Around 12,000 houses in this community will be connected with SmartThings, and residents will be able to keep a real-time check on the electricity consumption of their homes.

Also, residents of this Samsung Smart City will be able to compare their electricity usage with their usage goal and adjust their energy usage accordingly to save on their electricity bills. This sustainable housing community by Samsung, in partnership with Siemens, will allow users to live more eco-friendly and eco-conscious lives, which is the need of the hour.
