Samsung sending out the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 to partners

There’s a lot that needs to be done before the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 can be released to the public. Samsung is slowly but surely working through it all to bring us its latest and greatest foldable smartphones.

Mobile carriers are important partners for Samsung, particularly in its home country of South Korea. That’s because the vast majority of people purchase phones through carriers there. So Samsung is now sending out the new foldables to its carrier partners.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 launch due in August

According to local media reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 have been shipped to the country’s largest mobile carriers – SK Telecom, KT and LG U+. These carriers are now running tests on the devices to ensure that they are fully compatible with their networks.

While Samsung has offered exclusive color options to carriers in the past, reports suggest that it won’t be doing that for the new foldables. No South Korean carrier is going to get an exclusive color option for the upcoming devices.

We have confirmed exclusively that both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will receive a price cut up to 20%. Industry officials in South Korea expect the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to be priced at 1.9 million won or approximately $1,670. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 cost 2.398 million won or roughly $2,100 in Samsung’s home country.

The lower price is going to bring the new handsets within reach of more customers. That’s probably why Samsung is pushing ahead with record-breaking production of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. It expects to sell a combined 7 million units of these devices. The new foldables are expected to be unveiled in August.
