Samsung reveals its first sales event to step into the metaverse
Samsung has just announced that this year, for the first time, its Discover Samsung fall sales event will extend to Discord and reach metaverse fans in Decentraland. The company has prepared prizes for its Discord community, including NFTs (non-fungible tokens) worth up to $500. It’s all part of a “gamified hunt for clues” planned to commence Monday, September 12.
Samsung’s 837X community in Decentraland has been growing ever since the virtual space debuted earlier this year. Now, Samsung has invited its metaverse fans to participate in a contest and celebrate the Discover Samsung Event, held from September 12 – 18. Decentraland users will be able to watch live-streamed commerce events featuring their favorite content creators and their wish lists.
Everyone gets an NFT, but some NFTs have monetary value
From Monday, 10 AM ET to Wednesday, September 14, metaverse users will be able to join Samsung’s Discord channel and start the hunt for clues. Participants will answer questions scattered throughout Discord and the official Samsung website, and once the game concludes on September 15, players can submit their MetaMask wallet address to Samsung’s Discord for a chance to earn an NFT worth anywhere between $0-500. The total prize pool is worth $10,000.
All participants will receive an NFT, but those who win an NFT with monetary value can redeem it for an eCertificate that can be used during the Samsung Discover sales event.
Samsung US launched its Discord server earlier this summer to offer support for NFT distribution and Web3 activities. It was created for metaverse users to participate in virtual events, and anyone can join it from Samsung’s 837x website. Non-metaverse users can look forward to the Discover Samsung sales event directly on Samsung’s online shop in the USA.
