Samsung resumes Android 10 One UI 2 update rollout in India

On April 30th, Samsung announced it would be halting the rollout of the Android 10 and One UI 2.x update for its devices in India because of the nationwide lockdown adopted by the country to fight the spread of the coronavirus. Samsung hadn’t offered any time frame for when it would start updating devices to Android 10 again, but it seems the company is finally ready to get things rolling again now that the Indian government has lifted many of the lockdown restrictions. The first device to get Android 10 in India post Samsung’s software update hiatus is the Galaxy Tab S6. The flagship Galaxy tablet is receiving the One UI 2.1 update on the LTE variant at this time. Assuming the Tab S6 isn’t an exception, we should see Android 10 and One UI 2.x making their way to more devices in the country before the end of this month, or at least at some point in early June. The same goes for the One UI 2.1 update for smartphones launched with Android 10 out of the box, such as the Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, and the Galaxy A51.Samsung resuming the rollout of Android 10 in India will no doubt come as great news for Galaxy A50 owners in particular. The Galaxy A50 had already received Android 10 in the country a couple of months back, but the update was pulled as it was riddled by a slew of issues. Samsung India’s customer representatives had been telling A50 owners that a bug-free update would be released post the COVID-19 lockdown period, and it should only be a matter of time before the company makes good on that promise.
