Samsung Reminder app for Galaxy phones gets two useful features

While Google bundles reminders into its Calendar app, Samsung has a Reminder app that is separate from Samsung Calender and comes preloaded on most new Galaxy smartphones these days. It’s a pretty feature-packed app already, and Samsung is now adding two new and rather useful features.

Samsung Reminder update adds notification dismissal sync across devices

Version 12.4.04.17 of the Reminder app adds an option that removes notifications on all Galaxy devices that are logged in to the same Samsung account when you dismiss notifications on one device. This option is turned on by default, but you can disable it using the Dismiss alerts from all devices button in the app’s settings.

The second new feature is the option to disable your recent searches from showing up when you’re using the search function. This option can also be disabled or enabled manually. To do so, just tap the search button (the looking glass icon), followed by the More button (the three vertical dots) at the top right of the screen, and tap Search settings. Here, you will find the Show recent searches toggle that you can disable or enable based on your preference.

The new Samsung Reminder app update is available for download from the Galaxy Store. You can also update the app from its Settings » About Reminder menu. If you don’t see any update yet, check back again later as Samsung app updates can sometimes take a while before they become available in all regions and for all compatible devices.
